Principles Of Joy is the hottest Soul combo coming from Q-Sounds Recording' studios, the One & Only French Soul label since 2009. P.O.J first started in 2017. It's a mix of original members of QSounds' crew and newcomers, leaded by Ludo Bors, Keyboard player, composer and founder member of the label. Fronted by Soul Sister Rachel Yarabou, the band plays a Deep and intensive Soul mixing southern mid tempos & Northern Soul floor fillers. Their compositions are written by the duo Ludovic Bors/Christelle Amoussou. For their latest release POJ teamed up with Duesseldorf based label Unique Records! "MERMAID'S TAILS" is a powerful mid tempo track with Deep Soul flavor, psyche influences and a strong Hip Hop feeling. The song leads you through the dreamy desires of the perfect Love. "KICK OFF THE ROAD" is an uptempo song with bluesy verses, a strong driving beat and a heavy stomping bass. They lead us to the funky chorus full of organ hits & drum breaks.

The melody and the lyrics are both poetic and trivial. The track melts fantasy and reality in a Psyche Soul mood. The bass is heavy and deep, the drums sound like a Hip Hop sample to be while the Rhodes and the guitars are lushy. The Stax feeling of the band is mixed with James Brown's influences until the bridge that propulses the tune into an uplifted psyche parenthesis. In this song Rachel Yarabou sings the story of a girl willing to follow her own path and prefers to " Kick Off The Road " until she gets there ! Christelle Amoussou, the songwriter of the band is giving us another Soul anthem for freedom and Womens' emancipation.
